// ENGAGEMENT PARADIGM

How We
Work Together

We work closely with our clients: landscape architects, landscape designers, developers, architects and individual homeowners, to bring ambitious, beautiful, structural visions to life.

Whether executing clean standalone planter arrays, custom beds or high-detail screen compositions, we partner from initial concept through delivery / installation.

STAGE 01 // INDUSTRIAL DESIGN 01/04

PROJECT / CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT & REFINEMENT

We create original designs or translate architectural blueprints or hand sketches into robust 3D parametric models and renderings. Ensuring design intent is met, aesthetically and structurally before a single sheet of steel is handled.

STAGE 02 // CNC PREPARATION 02/04

High-Precision Laser Cutting

Using cutting-edge industrial CNC lasers, raw 11-gauge A588 weathering steel and other architectural alloys are precisely cut to realize the most complex design. We frequently layer, hand bend and weld individual panel / screen elements to achieve unexpected depth and dimensionality.

STAGE 03 // STRUCTURAL ASSEMBLY 03/04

Heavy Forming & Welding

The laser-cut elements may pass through heavy-duty break presses to form rigid structural returns, and are then usually joined to a frame structure by expert certified welders. Sometimes the cut, bent and welded elements act as their own frame and structure. Our welded corten steel planters receive the same attention to detail as our panels / screens.

Detail Finishing & Patina

Every structural weld is precision ground to establish seamless continuity across intersecting raw faces. We provide our clients the option to have us create an accelerated patina on their corten steel planters, beds, panels and screens. This enables our product to be installed with a well developed weathered patina already established. This greatly decreases the amount of rust run off that will occur until the fully matured patina is achieved.

"We partnered with Scott on our custom, oversized Corten planter boxes. Every unit arrived on schedule and was engineered for straightforward assembly. They look spectacular and are developing a beautiful, rich patina. We will absolutely work with Avidon Design on our next project."
